After a big declutter I’ve dug out some what I’m now calling ‘New Look Vintage’ from my mum’s loft. It’s pretty amazing how when you look at an item it takes you back to a point in time to where you bought it, the fashion at the time and also memories associated with it.
I am embracing ‘out with the old, in with the new’ so my wardrobe decluttering has inspired me to look forward at what New Look have released for Winter 2024 and my top fave three coats!
Winter Coats
This year I’m trying to go with more ‘comfort’ than style. My partner will be smiling whilst reading this as I’ve realised I was definitely the girl that rocks the coat because its stylish and looks cool and then moan I’m freezing cold. We also know that I could take this too far and end up wearing a ski jacket for the rest of winter, who knows! Hehe.
Okay so I have a stunning beige winter coat from Australia which is the most ME coat I’ve ever worn. I think I have probably found a slightly different style me with the same vibe and I have a feeling my partner might be behind this styling option and he clearly knows me too well.
The Cute Winter Day Coat
This jacket would look super cute with a more casual outfit where you need to pop out for a couple of bits in the day. Embracing the comfort way of life I would probably be too cold in this coat for the evenings but a perfect ‘I need a coffee and complete life admin’ day jacket!
The I’m Working But Need To Be Warm Coat
Loveeee this coat, this is super smart, formal and very classy. If you use to be somebody like me who runs around getting to and from work and moaning they are cold but probably in denial about that cute leather jacket that you can’t seem to shift, this jacket might be a much warmer option for you!
Navy really does go with everything and looks so elegant for work and for when day turns into night and you go out for work drinks and you still need something warm for roaming the city streets.
The Long Teddy Coat Edition
I’m all about the teddy coats, they are warm, cute and stylish, would more could you ask for? I have a really cute brown teddy jacket which I got in Australia inspired by my friend Jacq’s white fluffy jacket! I must have been in the mood for trying different colours as I really don’t have that much brown in my wardrobe but it’s honestly one of my absolute faves.
This coat would be more suitable for days out where you want to feel like you are wearing your duvet but want to look cute and smart and stay warm. The length of this coat means you aren’t out for the day feeling the cold on your legs. This reminds me so much of when I was younger and would go to Winter days out and activities and think do I need thermals under my jeans? No need, the answer is a long coat!
These are my top 3 fave Winter coats from New Look for 2024, I’ve kept it short and sweet because I’m a true believer in less is more and a more versatile wardrobe is the way the go. I hope these help somebody else considering what to buy for their Winter season whilst trying to embrace, comfort, style and a minimalist approach to getting more wear out of your clothing 🙂
